景观设计，设计的不仅是景观

2017年11月4日，国际景观建筑师联合会（IFLA）在泰国曼谷揭晓其亚太区2017年度景观设计大奖（IFLA Asia-Pac Landscape Architecture Awards 2017），AECOM景观设计团队出品的宁波甬江滨水公园荣获最重量级的奖项——公园与公共空间类“杰出作品奖”。

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Asia-Pacific Region announced its 2017 IFLA Asia-Pac Landscape Architecture (LA) Awards in Bangkok, Thailand on Nov 4, 2017. Yong River Waterfront Park in Ningbo city designed by AECOM was one of the winning entries for the Outstanding Award (the highest award honored for IFLA Asia-Pacific LA awards) from the Parks and Open Space Category.

Yong River Waterfront Park in Ningbo city designed by AECOM was one of the winning entries for the Outstanding Award (the highest award honored for IFLA Asia-Pacific LA awards) from the Parks and Open Space Category.

The leader of this project, Mr. Lee Parks, Director of AECOM Shanghai Landscape Practice, said: “Winning the IFLA Asia Pacific Outstanding Award for Public Open Space for the Yong River Waterfront Park is a real honor. It recognizes the work we deliver at AECOM and our long-term commitment to address ecological restoration, social inclusiveness and environmental responsibility.” 

Lee Parks是英国注册景观建筑师，英国景观协会(Landscape Institute)会员、美国景观建筑师协会(American Society of Landscape Architects)国际会员，拥有20多年的从业经验。他参与和负责的项目遍及中国、东南亚、欧洲、中东和印度等地，涉及城市和公共空间、交通基建、港口和码头、商业办公楼和多用途建筑、高尔夫球场、酒店和度假村、住宅、古迹遗址、医疗保健和教育产业等众多领域。

Lee is a professionally registered landscape architect from UK, a member of the Landscape Institute and an International member of American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) with over 20 years’ experience in landscape architecture and master planning. He has participated and led projects in China, South East Asia, UK, Europe, the Middle East and India, covering extensive scopes such as cities and public open space, transportation infrastructure, ports & marinas, commercial office & mixed use buildings, golf courses, hotels & resorts, residential, heritage, healthcare & education.

Childhood and youth

Lee是英国人，童年和少年时期都在英国南部度过。闲暇时光，热爱园艺的家人和他一起在花园里耕耘，父亲也常常带他漫步公园、森林，对自然的热爱从那时起就深深地植根在他心中。

Lee grew up in the UK and in his spare time enjoyed gardening and visiting parks and gardens with his family. His father often took him to visit the outdoors so the love of nature has been close to his heart since his childhood.

攻读学位期间以及初入职场

Lee’s university time and his initial years as a designer

大学时，Lee赴英国著名学府谢菲尔德大学(the University of Sheffield)景观学院攻读景观设计和植物科学本科学位和景观建筑研究生学位。毕业后，他先在英国、苏格兰工作了一段时间。2001年，由当时就职的英国工程公司派驻到中国南京开展业务，并在那里倾心于一位中国姑娘，也就是他现在的妻子。来到中国，可谓使他的人生、事业双双开启了新篇章。

At university he studied Landscape Design with Plant Science (BSc) and Landscape Architecture (Postgraduate Diploma) at the University of Sheffield’s Department of Landscape. After graduation, he worked in England and Scotland for several years to obtain his professional license. In 2001 he was sent to Nanjing, China by the British engineering company he worked for at that time. After a couple of years in China he fell in love with a Chinese girl who became his wife. Coming to China opened a new chapter for both his life and his career.

在中国工作生活9年后，2010年，他遇到了AECOM现在的亚太区总裁乔全生先生。在得知了AECOM激动人心的未来蓝图之后，他果断加入AECOM团队，仅用半年时间即担负起上海办公室景观设计团队负责人的重任。经过多年的发展，他的团队已经壮大到70余人。

After living and working in China for nine years, AECOM reached out to him in 2010. He met Sean Chiao, President of Asia Pacific Region of AECOM, who described the exciting future planning of AECOM landscape business to him. Lee subsequently joined AECOM and within half a year took up the role of Landscape Practice leader in Shanghai Office. After several years of development, his team now has more than 70 people. 

加入AECOM，让他的事业迎来了新的高峰。在谈及AECOM缘何成为行业中的佼佼者时，Lee颇为自豪地介绍道：“AECOM在景观设计方面的突出优势来源于公司全球范围内的丰富资源，使得各类所需领域的专业人才可以无间协作。AECOM的全球魅力可以网络多方面的人才，建筑师、规划师、城市设计师、交通专家、水利专家、经济学家、生态学家等等都在项目中起到不可或缺的作用，从而有能力为客户提供全方位的服务。”

When talking about how AECOM became one of the leading landscape firms in the industry, Lee proudly introduced: “AECOM is outstanding for the way landscape design is part of an integrated process and service that collaborates and leverages the broad range of professionals worldwide within the company. Our landscapes often need the expertise of architects, planners, urban designers, transportation specialists, water specialists, economists, ecologists…we are outstanding because we are fully integrated.”

生态项目，记忆犹新

在AECOM这7年中，他领导了众多项目，在城市与公共空间领域，除了屡获大奖的宁波甬江滨水公园外，让他记忆最深刻的要数厦门溪流、南京生态科技岛、上海浦江东岸、上海滨江森林公园（详见2017-09-12《上海又要新增一片森林，周末郊游有去处了！》）这几个项目了。

Having led a number of projects during the past seven years at AECOM, apart from the award winning Yong River Waterfront Park in Ningbo, Lee’s most memorable city and public open space projects include Xiamen Streams, Nanjing Eco Island, Shanghai’s East Bund and Binjiang Forest Park (more to see in the WeChat post of Sep 12, 2017).

在厦门溪流项目中，Lee带领AECOM团队负责厦门溪流流域景观设计项目中4条主要溪流共计90公里长的流域的景观设计方案，在厦门市规划局的牵头下，以解决水体污染、沿途居民安置、环境整治、防雨洪排涝等问题为目标，设计 “山、海、城”相连接的生态通廊。这一项目入围了ASLA大奖。

During the Xiamen Streams project in Fujian Province, China, Lee was authorized by the Xiamen Planning Bureau to lead a landscape framework plan of over 90km of watershed. This included investigations and designs for four major stream corridors that aimed to deal with water pollution, habitat restoration, flood control and the creation of a network of greenways linking mountain-city-sea. It was shortlisted as a finalist for an ASLA honor award.

Analysis & Planning of Xiamen Steams

新加坡·南京生态科技岛景观设计项目位于南京洲岛西部，AECOM为长达12公里的一期项目设计并实施了生态公园、复育森林、森林径道、湿地、草地和防雨洪排涝水利管理系统，重新定义了江心洲和长江的亲密关系。

Nanjing Eco Island is located at the west part of Jiangxin Island of Nanjing. AECOM delivered phase 1 of the project which includes forest restoration, wetlands, grasslands and storm water management. Future phases will cover 12km of waterfront scenic belt and will redefine Jiangxin Island’s relationship to the Yangtze River through a series of ecological parks and forest restoration.

上海浦江东岸轮渡站改善项目中，AECOM在项目的国际竞标中受邀担任专业顾问，并被邀请解决项目中5公里长滨江景观带途径三座上海轮渡站无法顺畅连接的棘手难题。AECOM团队给出的解决方案简单实用、毫不突兀，受到客户肯定。

For the Shanghai East Bund Ferry Station Improvements project, AECOM was invited as an expert advisor during an international competition and was asked to solve the connectivity at several break-points where the waterfront paths intersect three Shanghai ferry stations. AECOM’s solution such as at Qichangzhan Ferry Station is simple, understated and very pragmatic and is becoming widely used by the public.

“我最喜欢的项目是那些不仅修复了景观，并能给公众和生态环境带来福祉的项目。我喜欢运用稍加维护即可蓬勃生长的野花野草，提升公园的生物多样性，使游客得到更为愉悦的游览体验。我负责的项目基本上都会配备防雨洪排涝管理系统，即使面对暴雨、大潮等气候变化，也能妥善应对。”Lee总结道。

Lee summarizes:- “My favorite projects are those that restore landscapes and bring benefits to the public and wider ecology. I like using low maintenance wildflowers and feature grasses to enhance biodiversity and enjoyment for park users. My projects almost always incorporate storm water management systems to enhance resilience against flooding and climate change. ”

AECOM携手业界壮大行业社会影响力

AECOM collaborates with other companies to increase the social influence of the industry

虽然近年来景观设计行业在中国发展迅猛，然而，业内人士依然认为景观设计行业的价值和其在中国受到的重视还不成正比。

Though landscape design industry has witnessed fast development among recent years, industry practitioners still feel the real value of the industry has yet been underestimated and receives little recognition compared to what it has achived.

受到2016年由景观设计基金会(Landscape Architecture Foundation)提出的《新景观设计学宣言》(New Landscape Declaration)的启发，Lee和另两家美国知名景观设计事务所SASAKI、SWA的相关负责人一拍即合，决定联合举办上海景观论坛，让中国的景观行业从业者发出自己的声音，形成一个强有力行业社交网络，促进信息分享，提升景观设计实践在中国的公众关注度和影响力。

Inspired by the New Landscape Declaration of 2016 put foward by Landscape Architecture Foundation, Lee and the executives from SWA&SASAKI, two famous US firms in the landscape industry instigated a forum that seeks to create a platform for landscape industry practitioners to speak out their own voices, form a strong industry social network, enhance information sharing, and promote public awareness and the influence of landscape practices in China.

首届上海景观设计论坛在AECOM位于上海创智天地企业中心的办公室举办

The first Shanghai Landscape Forum held at AECOM’s office attracting 80 industry practitioners

于是，2017年4月27日，首届上海景观设计论坛在AECOM位于上海创智天地企业中心的办公室举办，吸引近80位行业人士参与。其中，Lee以AECOM项目为例，向大家分享了跨国公司在中国的景观设计实践以及机遇和挑战。

The first event was held on April 27, 2017 at AECOM’s office in Shanghai’s Knowledge Innovation Community attracting 80 industry practitioners. Lee used several case studies of AECOM to introduce the challenges and opportunities of international practice in China. 

约半年后，第二届上海景观论坛于10月26日在静安源创创意园召开，以“生态复育在中国的实践和挑战”为主题，吸引国内外景观设计公司、媒体、专家学者、政府机构、开发商等共计约170人参与。会上，Lee通过AECOM两个案例，阐述了如何在中国城市化建设与生态保护中寻求平衡。

About half a year later on October 26, 2017, the second event focused on Ecological Restoration and was held at the Crea-infinity Campus Showroom in Jing’an District. Participation increased to about 170 people from international and domestic design companies, media, academic experts, government and developers. Lee used AECOM projects delivered in China to demonstrate how to achieve balance between urban development and eco-protection. 

联合举办该论坛体现了AECOM作为行业领先企业的社会责任和行业担当。对于行业未来，Lee表示，习近平主席将生态文明建设放到政府工作的重要位置，这对包括景观设计在内的环境相关行业都是利好消息。他满心期待，AECOM可以与行业同仁一起为中国的生态文明建设做出更大的贡献。

Co-hosting this series of events clearly shows AECOM’s social responsibility and thought leadership in the landscape industry. In terms of the future of the industry, Lee believes that since President Xi Jinping has put eco civilization development as a high priority for the country, the impact will hopefully boost environmental related industries including the landscape industry. He is expecting to make more contribution to China’s eco civilization development along with other industry practitioners.
